Thiago Martins

The local newspaper reports that Thiago unfortunately will be out for four to six weeks with another strain. Coach Kent Bergersen says that this is unfortunate, since he loses a lot of training matches and opportunities to get to know the other players. However, all is not lost, Thiago is said to be able to withstand stamina training, and might be in even better physical shape when he recuperates.

Both i think....

Martin will hopefully be a big success. Together with Randall i think they will shoot us back into the Tippeliga.

That is one crazy story! Not many players in our part of the world have that kind of background. (Except perhaps Aleksander Nissen? )

There might be a problem with Martins work permit according to the local newspaper today. He is still waiting for his Italian citizenship, and the Norwegian rules for foreign players from outside the EU are pretty strict.

Not yet, but the norwegian football assosiation has been quite lenient with other players so most of us are optimistic.

The Norwegian government's attitude towards foreigners, regarding work permits, is rather strict. When it comes to footballers, there are (to us) unclear criteria as to who should be given such a permit, but the positive side of it, is that the department in charge always seems to follow a recommendation from the FA. So, as we understand, what the club has to do, is convince the FA that Thiago is extremely important to the club.

Is the problem foreigner players Glimt limit or for all Norvegians teams?
I'm not sure I understand your question, but the problem is that if he doesn't get his italian passport the football assosiation will only reccomend that he gets a work permit if they think he will be an important player for the club.

Other foreign players -- from within the EEC, ie. most of Europe -- get a work permit by default, as a result of the EEC agreement.

And he scored two goals in the game against our arch rivals Tromsø today. The final score was 3-1 in our favour. :)

Yeah Martin was huge today, and helped us win The Battle of North. This is the second team from the top divison we have beaten 3-1 in a week.

There might be an injury on Thiago. His left knee (again). We really hope it's nothing serious, we'll get the test result tomorrow. It would be a cooler with an injury now..

The injury was rumored to be serious, and even possibly career ending for Thiago, since he have had several operations in that knee already. Today there were good news however, and it is only a minor injury, and he should be back in 2 to 4 weeks.

Since it could have been so much worse, this was very good news both for us supporters, the team, and Thiago himself.

Tiagos injury wasn't too bad. 2-3 weeks out of the team.
Watch the interview with Tiago after the good news!
