Thiago Martins
The local newspaper reports that Thiago unfortunately will be out for four to six weeks with another strain. Coach Kent Bergersen says that this is unfortunate, since he loses a lot of training matches and opportunities to get to know the other players. However, all is not lost, Thiago is said to be able to withstand stamina training, and might be in even better physical shape when he recuperates.

The Norwegian government's attitude towards foreigners, regarding work permits, is rather strict. When it comes to footballers, there are (to us) unclear criteria as to who should be given such a permit, but the positive side of it, is that the department in charge always seems to follow a recommendation from the FA. So, as we understand, what the club has to do, is convince the FA that Thiago is extremely important to the club.

I'm not sure I understand your question, but the problem is that if he doesn't get his italian passport the football assosiation will only reccomend that he gets a work permit if they think he will be an important player for the club.bonitao wrote:Is the problem foreigner players Glimt limit or for all Norvegians teams?tomath wrote: Not yet, but the norwegian football assosiation has been quite lenient with other players so most of us are optimistic.

The injury was rumored to be serious, and even possibly career ending for Thiago, since he have had several operations in that knee already. Today there were good news however, and it is only a minor injury, and he should be back in 2 to 4 weeks.
Since it could have been so much worse, this was very good news both for us supporters, the team, and Thiago himself.
